In order to minimize rescheduled games, all NCRRL teams are required to report their tournament intentions to their association Ice Scheduler who will relay that information to the NCRRL Scheduler. Due to the number of teams, rescheduling games is significant burden on the volunteers who help run the NCRRL and schedule referees, not to mention that finding workable replacement dates can be a significant challenge for the teams themselves. We ask everyone to do their part minimize the number of schedule changes that could easily be avoided. For this reason, please do not wait until you received notification of acceptance as this will most likely be after the NCRRL schedule is prepared. Please inform the schedulers as soon as your team has applied to each tournament. The schedulers will use this information to avoid scheduling teams for games on weekends that they might be unavailable.
Tournaments played in Ontario are ORA sanctioned events, and ERRA oversees all of the tournaments in this region. It is important to note that NCRRL specific rules may not apply in these events. Tournament rules are well publicized and given to each participating team at the start of the event. Make sure you are aware of these. You can also refer to the Games and Tournaments Manual on the ORA website and any questions, concerns regarding tournament games should be addressed to the ERRA Games & Tournaments Coordinator.
There are several tournaments, both locally and throughout the province, which are very popular. It’s in the best interest of your team to decide very early in the season which tournaments you plan to enter and to send in your registration forms. After that be sure to advise your association”s ice scheduler which tournament(s) your team has applied for. This will greatly reduce the number of NCRRL rescheduled game requests throughout the year.
